First Annual Scholarship Gala

Women of the Dream (WOD) sponsored its first Annual Scholarship Gala on June 9, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Close to 150 people were in attendance, including 20 WOD middle-school girls representing four middle schools in Camden.  WOD provided scholarships to four college-bound girls at three high schools in Camden, and one a rising junior at Simmons College in Boston.  Scholarships were provided by Campbell Soup Company, New Jersey Education Association, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey,  Horizon NJ Health, and Camden City School District.

Missing is Iyonna Herbert, Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, who was in Holland at the time participating in an international jazz program with her school’s band. Iyonna is attending Snow College in Utah.
