About Leslie
Leslie Morris is the Founder and CEO Emeritus of Women of the Dream, a nonprofit organization that empowers girls and young women in underserved communities through leadership development, mentoring, college preparation, and scholarships. A native of Long Branch, New Jersey, Leslie’s journey from public housing to becoming the first in her family to graduate from college inspired her lifelong commitment to expanding educational opportunity.
She earned degrees from Simmons College, Boston College, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has devoted more than 40 years to advancing adolescent health, education, and youth development through leadership at the local, state, and national levels. Since founding Women of the Dream in 2012, Leslie has helped transform the lives of hundreds of young women. Through 2026, the organization has awarded 144 college scholarships totaling nearly $600,000, reflecting her enduring legacy of leadership, service, and educational excellence.
