WOD Takes 42 Girls to Temple University for a Day of Empowerment

Forty two girls representing four schools – Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Cream Family School, Veterans Family School, and Leap Academy, all in Camden, NJ – traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday, October 21, 2017, to participate in a full day of teen empowerment activities at Temple University. Sponsored by Sisters Giving Back, a nonprofit organization that empowers girls to be their very best, WOD girls were front and center in workshops focusing on confidence, fashion, and social media, and participating in skits and other activities that boost self-esteem, self-confidence, and encourage public speaking.

 

Girls Laying the Foundation for a Day of Empowerment!

Girls engaged in role plays and skits highlighting self-confidence, self-esteem, anti-bullying, avoiding peer pressure, and giving back to one’s community.

Girls write and share their thoughts and feelings.

Girls learn the basics of positive decision-making, positive attitude, positive and negative social media images, and other basic life skills.

Girls learn fashion and how to apply it to different events!
