STEM 2017 was a great success! Over 100 girls from the Camden and Philadelphia areas attended the conference on May 5, 2017, on the campus of our partner, Drexel University in Philadelphia. Attendees engaged in hands-on activities involving technology and science; received information on academic preparation for STEM from keynote speaker, Megan Reid, mechanical engineer at Hershey Park, PA, and other women of color in STEM; and watched in amazement how ice cream is made with nitrogen. And yes, the girls were able to sample the ice cream as well.
Also in attendance were guidance counselors and other school officials, parents, Drexel staff, faculty and students, and WOD volunteers.
